Afternoon inland showers through Saturday, best chances Sun/Mon

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A muggy morning turns into a hot and humid afternoon with highs in the upper 80s and feels like temperatures in the low to mid-90s.

Rain chances will increase through the afternoon and evening. One or two isolated showers develop along the coast midday then quickly drift inland with the best chance for heavier rain east of I-75.

Friday’s rain chances come down a little bit with just a few isolated showers expected well east of I-75 in the afternoon.

The weekend rain chances continue to be highest. It will not be a washout but showers will be possible at anytime during the day, especially Sunday and Monday with off and on downpours.

There will be a low to moderate flooding threat, mainly inland, with rainfall totals between 3 and 5 inches between Thursday and Tuesday.

Temperatures will come down over the weekend and early next week with more clouds and rain around but it will still be muggy.

Rain chances come down late next week and temperatures heat up once again as the unsettled pattern moves out.
