Not a weekend washout but storms likely at times

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Rain chances will ramp up heading into the weekend, but it will not be a washout.

Temps stay warm with highs in the mid and upper 80s with high humidity each day.

Friday rain chances will be mainly inland. An isolated early afternoon shower could develop along the coast but the heavy afternoon and evening rain will largely be east of I-75 and diminish after 9 or 10 pm tonight.

Saturday’s rain chances will be higher, but it will not rain all day. There could be a few isolated, lighter showers in the morning, especially near the coast. The best rain chance will be in the afternoon and still not necessarily at the beaches, but scattered afternoon and evening showers and storms are more likely.

Sunday’s rain chances go up even more but it will also not be a washout. However, there could be passing downpours at any time of the day.

The best coverage of rain comes Monday as the final push of heavy rain moves through. There will be a low to medium threat of flash flooding as the downpours pass.

Any storms that develop through Monday will have the chance to be strong to severe. The main hazards will be strong winds and hail, although an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.

The last of the showers move through Tuesday morning before drying out next week. It will heat back up and stay quite muggy.
