OLDSMAR — After five years of discussions, planning and more discussions, city and county officials as well as several Oldsmar residents gathered outside the Oldsmar Public Library on a humid evening May 6 for the groundbreaking ceremony for a mixed-use project that will be built on the St. Petersburg Drive site.
The Odeon Square development is set to be constructed on six acres of land adjacent to the library. When completed, it will provide housing, workspace and green space for hundreds of new residents and workers in a project that provides “an opportunity to bring new life, new energy and new residents to our city in a way that complements the character of Oldsmar,” Mayor Katie Gannon said.
