Man in ‘fear for his safety’ fatally shoots another man: Tampa police

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A man who claimed he was in “fear for his safety” fatally shot another man in Tampa on Sunday morning, the Tampa Police Department said.

Tampa officers said they received a 911 call from a man who said he had shot another man, claiming fear for his safety, around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

Officers found the caller, an armed man in his early 30s, on West Carmen Street, just west of North Oregon Avenue. Another man in his late 40s was found suffering from gunshot wounds next to the caller’s vehicle on West Gray Street and North Oregon Avenue.
