TAMPA, Fla. – The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) has announced the successful conclusion of a month-long operation targeting rising crime rates and violent incidents along the South 78th Street corridor.

The initiative has resulted in a significant 35% decrease in overall crime compared to the same period last year, with no shootings reported during the operation.

The intensive enforcement effort, launched to combat an increase in shootings and violent crimes in the area, saw deputies conduct 1,660 traffic stops and execute three search warrants.
