CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — Summer travel is in full swing, and officials at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE) said parking lots are quickly filling to capacity, so much so that they’re urging passengers to “get a ride.”
A Wednesday news release said a “record-breaking” number of passengers have been passing through the airport, and it’s been causing parking lots to fill up on weekends, typically from Thursday to Sunday.

“Over the Fourth of July weekend, many passengers booked flights within a week before departure and all parking lots were at full capacity,” airport officials said in the release.
