CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — Another passenger who was on the Clearwater Ferry during an April 27 collision is suing Jeff Knight, the operator of the other boat involved, for $50,000.
There were 45 passengers onboard the Clearwater Ferry when officials said Knight crashed his boat into the ferry. The crash left 10 people injured and one passenger, Jose Castro, dead.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday, July 17, states that Joseph Bonga was among the passengers injured that night. It is the third lawsuit to be filed after the crash, with legal action also coming from passenger Nicole Makelele and a family of six that was onboard the ferry.
Attorneys said Bonga suffered “bodily injury” resulting in “pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life,” and more…
