Man arrested after special needs child found swimming unsupervised in Pinellas County

INDIAN ROCKS BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — A man was arrested Thursday after an 8-year-old child with special needs was found swimming unsupervised on two separate occasions.

According to the arrest affidavit, on Wednesday at 4:33 p.m., the boy was found swimming in an off-limits and unsupervised pool. The pool was undergoing construction and was filled with stagnant and hazardous water that rendered it extremely unsafe to swim in.

The next day at 11:56 a.m., the child was once again left unsupervised while at the beach, which led him to swim past the buoys, out of the swim zone, and into the boat lanes…
