CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — Jeff Knight, the former owner of Jannus Live, was charged on multiple counts of leaving the scene of a boat accident earlier this week, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Knight’s charges stem from the April Clearwater Ferry crash, in which Knight reportedly collided his private boat into the ferry. One person, José Castro, drowned while several other people were injured, authorities said.

The FWC disputed claims Knight made that he had to leave the scene of the crash because his vessel was taking on water and a baby on board needed help.
In a criminal complaint affidavit, authorities said the claims were not supported by inspections of Knight’s vessel, which did not show hull intrusions, and by the fact that Knight did not call 911 to “coordinate help for the infant at his residence.”…
