Clearwater police rescue dog left in hot car at the beach

CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — Clearwater police rescued a dog that was left in a hot car at the beach on Sunday.

A French bulldog was left alone at Sand Key Park in a car with its windows cracked about two inches, according to a Facebook post from the Clearwater Police Department.

The temperature outside was 89 degrees, with a heat index of 96.

Officers said the dog was “panting excessively with drool coating the back seat.” It was checked out by a veterinarian and was expected to be OK…
