Man Dies After Being Struck and Thrown Off I-75 Bridge in Multi-Vehicle Crash Near Alafia River

RIVERVIEW, Fla. – A multi-vehicle crash on I-75 near the Alafia River bridge resulted in a fatality early Sunday morning after one of the drivers involved was struck by a third vehicle and sent off the bridge.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident began just before dawn at approximately 5:37 a.m. near the 250 Milepost. The report indicates that a Honda Civic, driven by a 35-year-old Spring Hill man, crashed while traveling southbound. The driver exited his vehicle and was standing on the roadway.

Moments later, a Mazda 3 sedan, driven by a 20-year-old woman from Louisville, Kentucky, was also traveling southbound and was involved in a separate single-vehicle collision just south of the first wreck. She too was afoot outside her sedan…
