Pinellas County deputy gets a lift while chasing suspect down the street

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office shared a video showing how a quick lift from a passing car helped a deputy catch up to a fleeing suspect.

The video shows two deputies conducting a traffic stop and then beginning to search the vehicle after smelling marijuana.

One of the men in the car then picks up a backpack and tosses it to another man waiting outside the vehicle. The second man quickly grabs the bag and takes off down the street.

As the deputy starts chasing the suspect, a minivan pulls up with its door open, and the driver yells at the deputy to “Get in!”
