PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) – A mosquito-borne illness advisory has been issued for Pinellas County after West Nile Virus was detected by its sentinel chicken program, county officials said Thursday.
The Florida Department of Health in Pinellas County said positive tests have come from Oldsmar and east Tarpon Springs, prompting treatments such as additional truck fogging and ground inspection for additional breeding locations.
Health officials also said West Nile Virus has been detected in sentinel chicken flocks throughout the state, including in Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough counties…
