Temporary change aims to improve water quality and system efficiency
PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Pinellas County Utilities is set to begin its semiannual water system maintenance program on Monday, Sept. 22, which will include a temporary change in the water disinfection process. The county will switch from chloramine to free chlorine disinfection, a process that is expected to last through Saturday, Oct. 11.
This routine maintenance is a proactive measure designed to improve water quality and minimize the potential for future issues within the water system. According to Pinellas County Utilities, the water will continue to meet all federal and state safety standards throughout the maintenance period.
