Oldsmar man charged with lobster violations

LONG KEY — A 40-year-old Oldsmar man was arrested Saturday, Aug. 30, for multiple lobster violations, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.

Marine Deputy Willie Guerra was on patrol near the Channel Five Bridge at approximately 12:15 p.m. when he reported observing Alexander Alfonso Matos throw multiple lobster tails into the water.

Guerra recovered multiple lobsters, two of which had puncture wounds consistent with being speared. A spear gun was also recovered from the water, reports say…
