CLEARWATER, Fla (WFLA) — The City of Clearwater approved an extra $100,000 toward learning about starting their own power company, and pulling the plug on Duke Energy.
The extra fee would take the existing contract of the feasibility study to the appraisal process, which the council voted to move to last month.
The money would come from special project revenues and have no impact on the city budget, mileage, or utility rates. If the appraisal comes back, and the council doesn’t like what they see, they can pivot…
