Thieves used Apple AirTag to track, rob Florida couple: officials

ODESSA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida couple came home from a night out with friends and, upon opening up their car doors, were dragged out of their car by armed robbers. The thieves ordered the victims into the garage of their Odessa home and robbed them, according the sheriff’s office in Hillsborough County.

An Apple AirTag was then found attached to the victims’ car, which was tracked back to suspects Omardy Maldonado Rodriguez and Luis Charles, per court documents.

Rodriguez and Charles were arrested and now face charges of armed burglary, assault and armed kidnapping.
