Whataburger is officially breaking ground on its first Tampa Bay location in Largo, marking the start of the popular chain’s expansion across the region. The new restaurant will be located at Ulmerton Road and 101st Street SE, with construction expected to begin soon. A groundbreaking event is set for November 6.
As part of a major Florida expansion, the burger chain plans to open eight restaurants across the Tampa Bay area by the end of 2027, bringing new jobs and its signature made-to-order meals to local communities.
The first wave of openings is scheduled for 2026, including:
- Early 2026: Ulmerton Rd. & 101st St. SE, Largo
- Spring 2026: W Brandon Blvd. & N Hilltop Rd., Brandon
- Summer 2026: SR-54 & Sierra Center Blvd., Lutz
