A 6-year-old girl died after she was struck by a vehicle when she and her family were crossing the street on their way to school earlier this week, according to Florida authorities.

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that deputies responded on the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 4, to a call about a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian at the intersection of Mohr Road and Sheldon Road in Tampa.
