A Florida woman is facing an attempted murder charge after authorities say she made multiple attempts on her husband’s life following an alleged threat to kill their son.
Karen Ruth Dedert, 58, of Seminole, is accused of one count of attempted murder in the first degree with a domestic-related component, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies arrived at the couple’s Tara Cay Court home on Tuesday morning around 8:15 a.m. after receiving a report of an ongoing assault. The husband was found outside, suffering a laceration to his left forearm.
According to an arrest affidavit, the harrowing incident began hours earlier, around 5 a.m., when Dedert allegedly woke her husband to ask about their son’s whereabouts, stating, “I need to sacrifice and kill you both.”…
