The University of South Florida (USF) is expanding its InfoSec Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Analyst program. The expansion aims to meet the increasing need for cybersecurity professionals in Florida. The program is supported by a $2 million federal grant secured by U.S. Rep. Greg Steube. Enrollment will nearly double, and free training will be offered to 400 military veterans, first responders, and public-sector employees in the state.
Since its start, the six-week online certificate program has trained 250 participants. The program covers cybersecurity risk management, regulatory compliance, and incident prevention. Graduates are now working in roles that focus on improving cyber defenses and security controls in their organizations.
Participants, including Andrew Ehrich from Softrim in Estero, report professional growth and improved ability to help clients with cybersecurity frameworks.
