BELLEAIR — Dan Carpenter, an experienced government finance official who recently worked in Indian Rocks Beach, was approved as Belleair’s new finance director during the October Town Commission meeting.
Carpenter was hired as Indian Rocks Beach’s finance director in May 2012 and held several roles at City Hall, including treasurer and interim city manager after the beach community’s longtime city manager Gregg Mims stepped down in July.
During the Oct. 21 commission meeting, Town Manager Gay Lancaster said she was “excited” to have the highly qualified Carpenter on board following a tumultuous year that saw the town cycle through several finance department heads, and one outside consultant…
