Homeless Empowerment Program reopens renovated kitchen in Clearwater

CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — The Homeless Empowerment Program (HEP) cut the ribbon on their newly renovated kitchen and dining hall on Wednesday, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

HEP leaders want to give people a sense of normalcy when they’re facing a life crisis.

“We take a lot of pride in how our campus looks,” said President and CEO Ashley Lowery. “Our housing does not look like a homeless shelter, our services do not feel like we are a homeless shelter and now the kitchen and dining hall match that feeling.”…
