GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – A mother and son duo will spend years in prison for trafficking drugs from Arizona to North Central Florida, federal prosecutors say.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Florida announced Kanethia Tremeka Steele, 51, of Tampa, was sentenced to 11 years and three months, and her son, Kenneth Steele, 30, of Phoenix, Arizona, was sentenced to seven years and six months.
Prosecutors say over three years, the Steeles transported large amounts of meth and cocaine from Arizona to drug dealers in Alachua, Dixie, and Gilchrist counties…
