USCG finds 4 Polk County missing boaters who disappeared during fishing trip near Clearwater

CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — Four boaters were rescued Tuesday after the U.S. Coast Guard said crews found the boaters’ capsized vessel about 26 miles offshore.

The four boaters from Mulberry left from the Seminole Street Boat Ramp around 9:30 a.m. Monday on a 25-foot green-and-white catamaran called “Money Well Wasted” for a fishing trip, Clearwater police said.

The boaters usually return at around 4 p.m., but when they hadn’t returned, relatives contacted the Clearwater Police Department around 8:30 p.m. Monday.
