PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – A Clearwater man was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries Tuesday evening after losing control of a Peterbilt truck on the Bayside Bridge.
The crash happened shortly after 5:00 p.m. in the southbound lanes, just south of Drew Street. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the 37-year-old driver was behind the wheel when the truck suddenly suffered a mechanical failure.
Troopers say the malfunction caused the driver to lose control, sending the heavy vehicle overturning onto the roadway.
Two passengers, both men from St. Petersburg, sustained minor injuries in the wreck. All three occupants were transported to area hospitals for treatment…
