Serial bank robber targets 2nd Clearwater business a month after first heist: police

CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — Clearwater police are looking for a man who they believe is now a serial bank robber, having targeted two banks less than a block from each other in the last month.

The most recent robbery was reported around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at the Wells Fargo located at 639 S. Fort Harrison Ave. Authorities said the man went into the bank and demanded cash at gunpoint. He then took off on an e-bike.

Detectives said they believe the same man robbed the Regions Bank, located at 715 S. Fort Harrison Ave., on Nov. 5. The two businesses sit directly across from each other, with only Pine Street and a parking lot separating them.

In that incident, the suspect also drew a gun and demanded money, leaving the bank with an “undisclosed amount of cash.” He then made his getaway on an e-bike investigators said he had stashed on Druid Road at the Pinellas Trail, traveling south on the trail…
