The Tampa-based and Pinellas County-based Humane Societies announced a huge plan to merge their two organizations and expand their support for local animals in Tampa Bay. The merger will become official in the New Year, with two of Tampa Bay’s most trusted animal welfare organizations joining forces for good on January 2.
Both campuses, one in Clearwater and one in Tampa, will continue full operations. With the merger, they will be able to pool resources in order to expand lifesaving services, increase access to affordable pet care, strengthen TNVR and education programs, and create a more sustainable future for animals across the region.
The official new name for the life-saving support service will be The Humane Society of Tampa Bay: Hillsborough Campus and Pinellas Campus. It’s a fitting merger, as the two organizations have worked in tandem for years for the betterment of animals throughout the region.
