TARPON SPRINGS — Commissioners on Dec. 16 rejected staff’s recommendation to purchase open-air golf carts for a tourist shuttle, citing safety and weather concerns, and directed staff to return with van options instead.
The city plans to launch a shuttle service between downtown and the Sponge Docks, with two proposed routes: an express “Lightning Route” taking five to seven minutes, and a “Leisure Route” with 13 stops taking 20 to 30 minutes.
