New Year’s Eve ball drop returns to downtown New Port Richey

NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. (WFLA) — A New Year’s Eve ball drop is returning to downtown New Port Richey for the second year in a row, after drawing roughly 12,000 people to the area during its debut celebration last year.

Organizers said even larger crowds are expected this year, with thousands anticipated to line Grand Boulevard to ring in 2026.

The celebration comes as cooler temperatures move into the Sunshine State, but organizers and attendees said the chilly weather is not dampening excitement for the outdoor event.
