The Raptor Center of Tampa Bay reports a bald eagle is currently recovering after falling from a cell tower near the area where she has been nesting for years. As soon as the eagle is healthy, she will be released near the area where she fell.

The eagle was rescued on Sunday by neighbors in the Port Tampa City who spotted the raptor in trouble. The eagle had fallen from a communication tower, where she had made her nest. Witnesses said the eagle hit the tower and a car on the way down before falling to the ground and spotted lying in the road.

She hit the tower, and her wing was swollen, and so, we took her and had her X-rayed. Remarkably, she has no fractures.

The eagle was transported to Blue Pearl Hospital for X-rays and then moved to the Audubon EagleWatch Center for Birds in Orlando…
