Tony D’s, an old school Italian sub shop, opens in Downtown St. Pete this week

We can smell the bread already. Tony D’s Sub Shop, an old-school Italian sandwich spot, opens this weekend at 217 Central Avenue.

The neighborhood shop focuses on classic, Italian deli-style sandwiches made from scratch in their expansive kitchen. Tony D’s officially opens on Friday, January 9, and it will be open seven days a week serving fresh sandwiches for lunch, dinner and late night noshing.

The team behind Tony D’s says the concept is inspired by corner delis and Italian family kitchens, with a focus on “simple, honest sandwiches built with intention and care.” The shop will have a mix of hot toasted sandwiches and cold subs featuring meat sliced in-house, with specialty creations available alongside customizable sandwich options.
