Freeze Warning Issued As Tampa Bay Area Plunges Into Deep Chill

TAMPA, Fla. – Residents across the Tampa Bay region should prepare for a drastic shift in conditions over the next 24 hours. Following a wet start to Sunday, temperatures are expected to nose-dive overnight, prompting the National Weather Service (NWS) to issue urgent cold weather alerts just in time for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Forecasters have issued a Freeze Warning and a Cold Weather Advisory effective from midnight tonight through 9 a.m. Monday. While Sunday afternoon will see the clouds part, the clearing skies will open the door for a bitter chill to settle over the area.
