In a routine apprehension, Jaureecio Thornton, 26, was arrested by Hillsborough County deputies, backed by their Aviation Unit, on the evening of January 19, on charges stemming from multiple felony warrants, the Sheriff’s Office detailed through a social media post. Thornton, previously convicted on three occasions, was discovered inside a Tesla at a Wawa charging station on East Hillsborough Avenue when the law enforcement action took place.
During the search of the vehicle, deputies uncovered an array of illicit items including a handgun loaded with ammunition, quantities of marijuana, oxycodone pills, and a collection of credit and debit cards belonging to various individuals, this according to the Sheriff’s Office Facebook post. Thornton’s current legal predicaments are multifaceted, with charges including Unlawful Possession of Personal Identification of Another (5 or More), Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Armed Possession of Controlled Substance, alongside the mentioned outstanding warrants.
