ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – A quiet morning at Jungle Prada de Narvaez Park turned somber Sunday after a local citizen stumbled upon the body of a 50-year-old man washed up along the shoreline. The discovery, made on February 1, sparked a multi-agency response to piece together the final moments of Jeremy Allen Franklin.
Franklin, who had recently purchased a small homemade boat, had apparently headed out on the water alone. When St. Petersburg Police first arrived at the scene near the boat ramp, they found Franklin wearing a life jacket, but his vessel was nowhere in sight.
It wasn’t until a Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office helicopter scanned the area from above that the situation became clearer.
