Local fave Pete’s Bagels opens new bagel shop and cafe in Tarpon Springs

The beloved local bagel brand Pete’s Bagels is now open on the downtown Tarpon Springs waterfront, marking more than just a new brick-and-mortar location, but evidence that small, local businesses are thriving in Pinellas County. The first-ever outpost for Pete’s in Tarpon Springs officially made its debut on Wednesday at 810 Dodecanese Blvd.

Founded by husband and wife Steven and Sara Peterman, Pete’s Bagels has made a significant impact on our community since its inception in 2019. After spending 10 years in New York, the couple returned with bagels fresh on the mind. Quickly outgrowing their first location, they’ve achieved an impressive foothold in the St. Pete and Tampa communities. Now, the local company is going north, opening yet another store in Tarpon Springs.

“This one feels different,” the company wrote on social media. “We are honored, grateful and sooo excited to be open in Tarpon Springs. Not only is this the most beautiful building, in the most beautiful setting, but this was such a community effort. Enjoy your bagels and @lookalivecoffee dock side. With seagulls above and manatees below. We have 2 floors of outside seating, a general store (with new Tarpon merch) and a full Pete’s menu.”

Bagels, coffee, and immaculate vibes

The new Pete’s Bagels location is simply spectacular. Not only does it sit right on the water so customers can munch on delicious bagels while wildlife-watching, but the building itself is beautiful. Two floors and outdoor seating ensure this place can fit a host of bagel goers.

What sets Pete’s Bagels apart from other places is… the bagels! Seriously, as someone who frequents their St. Pete location, I’m surprised every Saturday morning how fast the bagels go and how long the line is to place an order. Pete’s bagels are made fresh every day and sell extremely fast. My personal favorite is the Salty Pete or the Sunny Pete…
