ST. PETERSBURG, Florida — A pedestrian who was critically injured while attempting to cross 22nd Avenue South near 49th Street South has died, authorities said.
Robert Smith, a 45-year-old resident of St. Petersburg, was walking between vehicles stopped at a traffic signal in the 4800 block of 22nd Avenue South shortly after 9 a.m. on February 3. Smith was not using a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a gray Jeep traveling west on 22nd Avenue South.
