CLEARWATER, Fla. – Clearwater Beach will be a hive of activity as nearly twenty of the world’s most renowned sand artists descend on its famous shores. These professionals are beginning the labor-intensive process of turning tons of fine white sand into a massive gallery for the Pier 60 Sugar Sand Festival.
The festival, presented by Visit St. Pete-Clearwater, is scheduled to officially open to the public on March 27 and will run for 17 days.
This year’s theme, “United in Sand: Celebrating Sports & Spirit,” will feature 18 master sculptors working within a 24,000-square-foot structure to protect the detailed carvings from the elements…
