2 children rescued after boat overturns during sailing lesson in Dunedin

DUNEDIN, Fla. (WFLA) — Two children were rescued from the water after their boat overturned during a sailing club instructional class in Dunedin on Sunday.

Dunedin Fire Rescue was called out to 49 Marina Plaza, south of the first island, just after 3 p.m.

Two children were pulled from the water and taken back to shore, where they were checked over by medical crews.

The sailboat was left adrift and, as of Sunday afternoon, was moving north toward the Dunedin Causeway.
