PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla (WFLA) — Duke Energy engineers are placing power lines underground as part of a storm hardening project. Officials said the work will help keep lights on for its more than two million customers, especially after hurricanes.
The company said roughly 50%, or more than 100 miles, of Pinellas County’s system has gone underground. They are working to reach more power outage prone areas, getting the power back on faster for everyone.
