Clearwater police launch drone pilot program to manage Spring Break crowd security

CLEARWATER, Fla. (WFLA) — Spring break is underway in Clearwater, and city leaders said the busiest weeks are still ahead.

Parking lots are filling up, blue tents line the sand, and thousands of visitors are arriving as Spring Break stretches from early March through the end of April.

With crowds increasing, Clearwater police are rolling out a new tool they hope will help cut response times during peak traffic drones.
