Pasco County Man Heading To Prison After Social Media Death Threats Against Kristi Noem

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A 79-year-old New Port Richey man will spend the next year in federal prison after making a series of violent threats against government leaders online. U.S. District Judge Charlene Honeywell handed down the sentence to Benjamin Rubin following his guilty plea late last year for the interstate transmission of threats to kill multiple federal officials.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe, marking the conclusion of a case that began early in 2025.
