TAMPA, Florida — A traffic collision in Tampa late Sunday evening resulted in the death of a man and left a woman in critical condition.
The incident occurred around 9:49 p.m. when a man in his mid-60s was assisting a woman in her early 50s by pushing her wheelchair across N. Florida Ave near E. Ohio Ave, according to the Tampa Police Department. The pair was crossing in a poorly lit area outside of a designated crosswalk when they were struck by a northbound 2005 Volvo.
Despite the swift response of first responders, the man was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The woman was also transported to the hospital and remains in critical condition…
