Wahoos Bayside Pub & Grill has been a local gem for more than 20 years, and finally, the beloved waterfront restaurant is making its return. Wahoos officially reopens today, May 1, after nearly 20 months of closure following catastrophic damage from hurricanes in 2024.
The Redington Shores star, located at 17801 Gulf Blvd, has long been a local favorite for its cast-iron blackened grouper, still made today by chef and founder Jhan Lawson. The restaurant said it will be open from 11 am – 11:30 pm daily, and owners Jeanette DeMarco and Kenny Later have asked for patience in these opening days and weeks as they expect large crowds welcoming Wahoos back.
While we were sad to be without Wahoos for so long, there is plenty of good news accompanying the reopening. Firstly, owners say that a large majority of the pre-hurricane staff is back, having patiently waited for the chance to return. Regulars will be excited to see their favorite servers and bartenders…
