Tampa, Florida — Florida authorities say they dismantled a large organized retail theft operation accused of moving roughly $7 million in stolen merchandise across multiple states, resulting in 14 arrests and the seizure of millions of dollars in stolen goods.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation, called “Operation D-Fence,” began in late 2025 after detectives received information about a possible fencing operation tied to stolen property. Investigators later uncovered what they described as a highly organized criminal enterprise operating throughout Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
