TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Three people were hurt in a boat crash along the Hillsborough River in Tampa late Sunday night.
Tampa police were called to a neighborhood on the east side of the river, south of West Hillsborough Avenue, at around 11:30 p.m.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) took over as the lead agency in the investigation. FWC said a 19-foot boat with four people on board hit rocks near the shore in the area of Ignacio Haya Linear Park.
A bystander told 8 On Your Side that he heard calls for help coming from the river, and the boat’s captain told him that two men fell overboard. He helped find the men and pulled them from the water.
“I could tell it wasn’t a normal scream. You know, you usually hear people talking on the river, but this was obviously a scream for help, where she was trying to find somebody in the water,” Steven Boyer said. “I’m just glad there was somebody there that was able to help out.”…
