ELYRIA, Ohio (WJW) — In his final days, Huxter the dog was surrounded with love and even got to celebrate his birthday. The pit bull mix that was found tied to a sign post in Cleveland has passed away, Fido’s Companion Rescue confirmed.

Earlier this month, the rescue group said that the large facial tumor on Huxter’s face was cancerous. They said they didn’t know how long the dog had left, but they wanted to make the time glorious.
“Instead of focusing only on the heartbreak, we want to give Huxter love, comfort, adventures, cheeseburgers, sunshine, cuddles, and memories,” they wrote in a Facebook post.
The group then invited the community to suggest bucket list ideas for Huxter and help by donating money to the cause.
