EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (WKBN)- A murder mystery movie that had scenes filmed in East Liverpool is set to premiere in a Cleveland movie theatre this weekend.
The movie, “Kingsbury Run,” covers the real-life efforts of famous investigator Eliot Ness and the Cleveland Police Department as they try to track down the killer of at least 12 people during the Great Depression. It will premiere on Saturday, June 6, at the Capitol Theatre in Cleveland.
WKBN discussed the movie with local detective and filmmaker Jon Price in April, 2025. In June, 2025, actors from all over Ohio and Pennsylvania gathered at The Thompson House, an East Liverpool mansion that was built in 1876. The house was once the living quarters of the family of Cassius C. Thompson, the patriarch of the pottery industry in the East Liverpool area.
