2 motorcyclists arrested on felony weapons charges after Thruway traffic stop

Two motorcyclists were arrested on felony weapons charges after a traffic stop on the New York State Thruway uncovered loaded firearms and illegal ammunition devices, according to New York State Police.

Troopers stopped three motorcycles from Ohio traveling southbound near mile marker 144 in Albany on Friday, shortly before 9 p.m., for vehicle and traffic law violations. A subsequent investigation led to the discovery of weapons.

Daron A. Swisher, 30, of Fairlawn, Ohio, was found with two loaded handguns and a high-capacity ammunition feeding device with assistance from State Police K9 “J.” He faces charges of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon for the loaded firearms, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon for the high-capacity device, and vehicle and traffic law violations…
