Ohio man sentenced to life without parole for stabbing woman to death in front of her 5 children

CLEVELAND (TCN) — A man has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole after being convicted of aggravated murder last month.

On July 10, 2025, police responded to a home after receiving a report of domestic violence, the Independent reports. Officers found the body of 32-year-old Sharmaine Magan Forpahl, who had been stabbed multiple times in front of her five children, ages 7 to 15. Charles Barkley, 44 at the time, was arrested in connection with her death and charged with murder. It was learned he and Forpahl had been in a brief romantic relationship.

Barkley was found guilty of aggravated murder, murder, and felonious assault on June 17, WOIO reports. He was sentenced to life in prison without parole on July 30…
